Texas WR Xavier Worthy played with a broken hand last season

Steve Sarkisian revealed Xavier Worthy had a broken hand for the second half of the season.

Texas began spring practice on Monday.

Third-year head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke with the media and provided an injury update regarding several key players that will be limited to start spring ball.

Jonathon Brooks, Jalen Catalon, Derion Gullette, Cole Hutson, Maalik Murphy, Isaiah Neyor, and Keilan Robinson will be limited and/or were limited on Monday.

However, one of the more interesting comments from Sarkisian had to do with the 2022 season. Sarkisian revealed that wide receiver Xavier Worthy played with a broken hand for the second half of the season.

It’s unclear why Sarkisian chose to keep this in-house, and even more mind-boggling why Texas’ offense appeared to force feed the injured wide receiver often.

Worthy has certainly showed his toughness and what he’s physically able to play through. Sarkisian expects we will see a dramatically different version of Worthy now that he’s healthy.
