Allowing the top in-state to leave the state has been a thorn in Texas’ side over the last decade, and it may happen again with one of the top wide receiver targets in the 2023 class.
Four-star Jaden Greathouse out of Westlake High School is viewed as one of the Longhorns primary wide receiver targets in the class, and someone they were in the lead for at one time holding one crystal ball prediction.
However, after his most recent visit to South Bend to see Notre Dame, it seems as if the tides are beginning to shift in his recruitment as two crystal ball predictions were inputed in favor of Notre Dame.
Losing someone like Greathouse who has put up monster numbers catching 182 passes for over 3,000 yards and 43 touchdowns would not only sting because the Longhorns would miss out on a talented playmaker, but it would likely hurt even more considering the fact that he is in their backyard.
Texas wide receivers coach Brennan Marion will have his work cut out for him in order to keep Greathouse from leaving Austin, but he will have ample opportunities to show how much production his receivers will get in this offense in 2022.
