All nine coaches and Jimmy Lake could resign tomorrow and it would not be worse than losing Kwiatkowski. Words cannot describe how catastrophic this is.

hey at least the rest of the country gets to acknowledge how incredible Kwiatkowski is now

Coach Pete Kwiatkowski is officially leaving for the Texas DC position under Steve Sarkisian.
Huge loss for UW. He is a top 2 DC in the entire country in my opinion, and completely irreplaceable.

Pete Kwiatkowski’s Resume:
– Top-2 DC in CFB

– #1 P12 Defense in 5 of past 6 years
– 75 straight games without allowing more than 35 points (currently active)

So this is what it feels like to be excited about staff hires.

What a hire. Never thought he'd leave Washington. https://t.co/2RHJaiofnx

I hate to be the obvious guy, but Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian has seemingly assembled a badass coaching staff. Peter Kwiatkowski's defenses at Washington were strong. Sarkisian definitely learned the importance of putting together a killer staff from Nick Saban.

Huge loss for UW. Kwiatkowski was a steadying force in the program. Not going to be easily replaced.
Sark building an impressive staff at Texas so far. https://t.co/bkcXV8qGBN

Washington fans freakin out about losing Kwiatkowski is about all you need to know.
— Super K (@SuperK_TFB) January 19, 2021
In his 11 seasons as a defensive coordinator, Pete Kwiatkowski's defenses ranked inside the top 25 of FEI or S&P+ 10 times.
— Dustin McComas (@DMcComasOB) January 19, 2021
UW allowed 35+ points under Pete Kwiatkowski just five (!!) times since he joined as DC/co-DC in 2014.
2014 — 3
2015 — 0
2016 — 0
2017 — 1 (35)
2018 — 0
2019 — 1 (35)
2020 — 0#Texas has allowed opponents to score 35+ points 22 times in that same span. #HookEm @TFB_Texas— CJ Vogel (@cjvogel3) January 19, 2021
I'm betting Texas threw some serious cash at Kwiatkowski because from my understanding is most thought he was a lifer at Washington.
— Hook'em (@thelonghorns12) January 19, 2021
Kwiatkowski is going to be inheriting a defense with a lot of pieces to work with. He will get a pair of senior corners, an extremely talented DeMarvion Overshown and some elite talent in the trenches with Alfred Collins, Keondre Coburn, T'vondre Sweat and Moro Ojomo. #HookEm

Amidst all the bed wetting over the various SEC options, Pete Kwiatkowski was right there hiding in plain sight. What a coup for Sark if he gets him. Guy is a straight up stud. #HookEm #AllGasNoBrakes

Tough blow for UW and huge pickup for Sark and #Texas, Kwiatkowski is arguably the best DC the Pac-12 has had in the last decade https://t.co/B3hlxyuObi
