Texas Tech favored over LSU in SEC/Big 12 Challenge

The LSU Tigers (11-4) take a break from SEC play on Saturday when they host the No. 10 Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-5) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

It’s the rare nonconference game this late in January as most teams are in the middle of conference play.

LSU enters this game fresh off a road win at Texas A&M. The Tigers had lost their previous two games. They looked to be on the verge of another defeat this week before shutting the A&M down in the final 10 minutes of the game and pulling away with a double-digit victory.

The Red Raiders have lost two games in a row, including a heartbreaking one-point loss at West Virginia on Monday.

This game will feature a pair of high-flying guards who lead their respective teams in scoring. Mac McClung of Texas Tech is averaging 17 points per contest, while LSU freshman Cameron Thomas leads the SEC in scoring at 22 points per game.

The 10th-ranked Red Raiders are currently favored to defeat LSU, according to BetMGM, The King of Sportsbooks.
