Texas stay No. 3 in latest College Football Playoff ranking ahead of Aggie game

Texas Longhorns remain No. 3 in the College Football Playoff ranking and would be the No. 2 seed in the bracket if the season ended today.

As expected, the top four stayed the same in the latest College Football Playoff Ranking. That includes the Texas Longhorns holding fast at No. 3. Oregon remains No. 1, Ohio State at No. 2 and Penn State at No. 4.

Indiana dropped five spots after losing to Ohio State over the weekend. The Hoosiers remain in a playoff position at No. 10. Notre Dame moves up to No. 5, almost fully recovering from that early season loss to NIU.

Georgia and Tennessee each moved up two spots to No. 7 and No. 8 respectively. SMU jumps four spots after handling Boston College.

Boise State moves up one spot to No. 11. Because Boise is ahead of every team in the Big 12, the Broncos would get the first round bye and the first place Big 12 team would be the 12th and final seed in the tournament. That is Arizona State. The Sun Devils are ranked 16th.

Currently, No. 12 is Clemson, but because ASU would be in the bracket, the Tigers are on the outside looking in.
