He was a unanimous Texas 16-6A first-team all-district selection as a sophomore.

Texas appears to be trending for one of the top defensive line prospects in the state of Texas for the 2023 cycle.

The Longhorns received a crystal ball prediction for four-star defensive lineman Ashton Porter on Wednesday. The Cypress, Texas, native is rated the No. 26 defensive lineman for the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 32 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports.

In 2020, Porter was a unanimous Texas 16-6A first-team all-district selection as a sophomore for Cy Ranch High School. He concluded that season with 32 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles.

Texas was one of the first Power Fiver programs to extend an offer to the 6-foot-3 lineman on April 7. He has since compiled offers from Michigan State, Cal, Baylor, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and TCU among others.
