Texas running back Jonathon Brooks has had an impressive first half of the 2023 college football season.

True freshman running back CJ Baxter began the season as the starter, but Brooks’ stellar play left head coach Steve Sarkisian no choice but to give Brooks the bulk of the carries.

If he continues this trajectory, it’s certainly possible Texas could bring home the Doak Walker Award for the second consecutive season.
