The Texas Rangers (51-35) take on the Boston Red Sox (43-43) in the 2nd game of a 3-game set Wednesday at Fenway Park. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Red Sox odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Rangers lead 1-0

The Rangers took the series opener 6-2 on Tuesday, powered by a C Mitch Garver 3-run homer in the 2nd inning. Texas has been treading water over the last month, going 10-10 and 15-15 over the last 20 and 30 games, respectively. The Houston Astros have taken advantage of Texas’ mediocre play and are now just 3 games back for the AL West lead. The Rangers are 24-17 away from home this season.

The Red Sox matched the Rangers’ 10 hits Tuesday but could only muster up 2 runs. They have had similar results over the last month or so, going 10-10 and 14-16 over the last 20 and 30 games. Boston sits in last place in the AL East, 13 games behind the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays. The Sox have not played particularly well at home and are just 21-22 at Fenway Park this season.

Rangers at Red Sox picks and predictions

Prediction

Red Sox 4, Rangers 3

Moneyline

I like the Red Sox here because Bello has been great the last month-and-a-half. He’s just 2-4 but has a 2.22 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in his last 7 starts. Meanwhile, Gray has been trending in the wrong direction with 5 ER in 2 of his last 3 starts. He is great on the road, but 7 walks in his last 3 starts keep him from going deep into games.

Take the RED SOX (-110).

Run line/Against the spread

The Rangers are favored, and the Red Sox are outpriced on the RL Wednesday.

Instead of the run line, I’m riding with BRAYAN BELLO OVER 17.5 OUTS (-135). He has gone at least 6 innings in 5 straight outings and 6 of his last 7 starts. He also did so in his only career start against Texas.

Over/Under

This seems like a tall number. Gray has been great on the road, and Bello has been great the last couple of months. Texas is 4-3-3 O/U over the last 10, and Boston is 4-6.

The Under is 3-0-1 in Texas’ last 4 against the AL East and is 3-0-2 in Texas’ last 5 road games. The Under is 8-1 for Boston in the last 9 after they allowed 5 runs or more in a game and 7-1 in the Red Sox’s last 8 following a loss.

I like the UNDER 9.5 (-105).
