Texas’ quarterback competition is going as planned

Sarkisian could have his quarterback selected in the next two weeks.

The battle for the starting quarterback job is underway in Austin. Competition is bringing out the best in each quarterback.

In the minimal footage we have seen, both quarterbacks have been accurate. Nevertheless, one throwing motion caught my eye.

Texas fans are familiar with Hudson Card’s strong skills and passing ability, but recently saw Quinn Ewers’ arm talent on full display. Watching the Southlake Carroll gunslinger passing the ball in Texas practice gear makes it easier to visualize Ewers leading the Longhorns into a real game.

Maalik Murphy is certainly a player who could factor into Texas’ long-term plans at quarterback as well.

Despite last year’s inconsistency at quarterback, there is confidence Steve Sarkisian will make the best quarterback decision for this team.

Now that he is more knowledgeable of his personnel than last season, it could be easier to determine the right quarterback fit.

In my opinion, Sarkisian could have his quarterback selected in the next two weeks.
