The expectations are higher this offseason than in years past. Texas faithful have every reason to believe in the team.
Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian urged the fan base to buy in for another season stating “this looks like my team.” One has to assume that has something to do with how the roster is constructed based on numbers and talent.
The depth across the board is reason for excitement in Austin. The depth extends to the quarterback room. Presently, Texas has two starting caliber quarterbacks on the roster in Quinn Ewers and Maalik Murphy.
The good news for this coaching staff is that the Longhorns should be capable of winning every time they take the field regardless of whether or not Ewers is healthy. For that reason, the spotlight shifts from the quarterbacks to the coaches.
Sarkisian embraces the expectations that come with coaching at Texas. His personality is the perfect fit for the job, and his team is fortunate to have his offensive ingenuity. Nevertheless, it’s a prove it year for the Longhorns that will demand wins.
The Texas head coach has the culture, talent acquisition and track record of development to inspire confidence in the program. Now, all that’s left is to win games. He’ll look to check that final box in 2023.
Maalik Murphy is staying loyal to Texas football. https://t.co/aIhVVSBFeL
