Texas makes 2024 Duncanville DB Kadavion Dotson’s top five schools

There could be another KD in Austin if Texas can land this elite Duncanville safety.

Four-star safety Kadavion Dotson has narrowed down his school choices. The Texas Longhorns made the cut for his updated list of schools.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, the 6-foot Duncanville safety from the 2024 class ranks as the No. 5 safety in the state of Texas. Duncanville has produced impressive secondary players in recent years like Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw and hard-hitting USC safety-turned-linebacker Chris Thompson.

Dotson lists LSU, TCU, SMU and Oklahoma State as the primary contenders to challenge Texas in his recruitment. It’s no secret that LSU has been one of the better teams at developing secondary players. TCU and Oklahoma State have made strides in defensive back development of late.

TCU and SMU will have the advantage of proximity with Dallas and Fort Worth nearby Dotson’s high school. Even so, the allure of Austin paired with what Texas is building could bring incentive to choose the Longhorns.

The Duncanville product has been vocal about the development this coaching staff is producing in its short time on the Forty Acres. We will monitor whether or not Dotson elects to be one of the next in line to join the team.
