Over the weekend Texas hosted a handful of elite recruits from the 2024 class for official visits. It seemed to go well based off recent reports.
In an interview with On3, four-star cornerback Wardell Mack spoke extremely highly of his visit to Austin even going as far to say that they have now created a four-way tie for the lead in his recruitment.
“They’re at the top, not going to lie. They’re at the top. I wouldn’t say they lead. It’s like a four-way (battle) going on.”
The Louisiana native explained to On3’s Gerry Hamilton what Texas’ pitch to him was, citing an opportunity to make an immediate impact in the SEC.
“There’s a very high chance I come in and play early in the SEC in my freshman season. He feels I can develop into a great player and that I’ll be a great asset to the team.”
However, Texas still has some ground to make up despite being one of his four favorites, as Mack holds two crystal ball predictions to LSU. The Longhorns are clearly prioritizing the secondary in this recruiting class, and Mack would be a perfect addition to what could be a very promising class.
