On offense, I am excited to see what the chemistry between Sam Ehlinger and his receivers is like. Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson were the quarterback’s favorite targets last season and they are both gone. Mix in Jake Smith being out with a hamstring problem and Ehlinger will have a bunch of new faces. Seeing Tarik Black, Joshua Moore, and Jordan Whittington get their first game as full-time starters will be interesting.

Flipping to Chris Ash’s defense, I am excited to see how Joseph Ossai performs at the Jack position. After the performance against Utah in the Alamo Bowl, Ossai became the talk of the offseason. Now, he needs to translate it into a full season. Watching him (hopefully succeed) against UTEP will give a baseline for the rest of the 2020 season.
