Every wide receiver outside of Joshua Moore needs to step up and help out their quarterback. Jake Smith has played in one game this year after a recurring hamstring issue. If he can in fact go this week, then he needs to be a great outlet for Ehlinger and the offense.

Last season Devin Duvernay was commanding the slot and had a record-setting year. He was targeted 129 times and brought in 105 passes. Smith needs to be that guy this season. Last year Smith accounted over half of his yards after the catch. That is how he can help out his quarterback and this offense.

The team needs to get better production out of the slot wide receiver to have more success on offense. Without the benefit of a consistent in the run game, the passing game will have to be leaned on. It starts with Jake Smith the falls to Brendan Schooler and Kai Money.
