The SEC has announced that Texas will wear their road white uniforms for the SEC Championship Game. Officially, Texas calls the uniform combo ‘icy white.’
The Horns are a perfect 5-0 in the white uniforms this season. Texas has worn the whites for all four road games this year and for the neutral site game against the Sooners in Dallas. In fact, the three biggest wins for Texas this season has been in white – Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
UT is 6-1 in the home burnt orange and white combo. The lone loss came at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Historically, some of Texas biggest wins have come wearing the all-white uniforms. Vince Young’s two signature wins, the Rose Bowl vs. Michigan and the Rose Bowl/National Title game against USC, both came while wearing white. The ‘Game of the Century’ against Arkansas in 1969 was in white. Last year’s Big 12 Championship win came in all-white.
The last time Texas beat Georgia, in the 2019 Sugar Bowl, UT wore white and UGA wore red.

The icy whites are also popular with non-Texas fans. Fox Sports lead college football analyst Joel Klatt was asked what his favorite uniforms in all of college football are and his instant response was, “Texas road whites.”
