The loss to Iowa State fell on the shoulders of Tom Herman and some coaching decisions he made. On Saturday against Kansas State, he was not outcoached, and instead kept his foot on the gas throughout the game.

For someone who is probably about to be fired, it was an impressive performance from Herman. Even after watching a team captain fall to a gruesome injury, he kept Texas playing at a high level.

Even better, the offense never slowed as it did against the Cyclones. Ehlinger and the run game were high flying until the backups were summoned. It will not be enough to save his job, but Herman had a fantastic day against Kansas State.
