Quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been struggling since the first bye week. However, Mike Yurcich and Tom Herman have insisted on trying to find offensive success through the senior signal-caller. That changed against Kansas State with a steady dose of the running game.

True freshman running back Bijan Robinson was the team’s leading rusher, ending with nine carries for 172 yards and three touchdowns. A breakout game had been on the cards for quite some time, and Robinson finally pulled it off. His 75-yard touchdown was the highlight of the day.

Roschon Johnson was not as effective as Robinson, but he still ended up averaging 9.9 yards per carry. His yards were more hard-earned, breaking tackles on nearly every play.

With Keaontay Ingram reportedly entering the transfer portal, Texas’ running back room will be just fine with Johnson and Robinson.
