Texas’ game against Iowa State scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed. ISU is pausing all team activities due to COVID-19 complications.

The Longhorns basketball game against Iowa State on Wednesday has been postponed. The Cyclones are pausing their team activities due to COVID-19 complications.

This is the second game the Longhorns have seen postponed throughout Big 12 play. Baylor was also dealing with the coronavirus and had to reschedule the conference opener.

Neither game has officially been rescheduled yet. Texas says they’re going to work closely with other members of the conference to find a replacement date.

Here is the statement released by the University:

In accordance with Big 12 Conference men’s basketball interruption guidelines, the Texas at Iowa State game scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 20 has been postponed. Iowa State is pausing team activities due to COVID-19 protocols within the program.

The Big 12 Conference will work with the institutions to reschedule the game.

No. 4/4 Texas (11-2, 5-1 Big 12) will return to the court when it plays at TCU on Saturday, Jan. 23. Tip is set for 5 p.m. Central at Schollmaier Arena, and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.

During Texas’ win over Kansas State, they were without three crucial players in Greg Brown, Brock Cunningham and Kai Jones. Texas head coach Shaka Smart mentioned that if the Iowa State game were to have occurred, those three would not have traveled to Ames.
