After Chris Beard joined the Texas Longhorns basketball program, we all knew this meant what would look like a complete roster overhaul for both Texas and Texas Tech.
Royce Hamm and Donovan Williams both are on their way to UNLV, Kai Jones declared for the upcoming NBA Draft and there are still questions around many other players on the roster.
Texas Tech is also seeing roster unloading as Terrance Shannon is entering the NBA Draft and Mac McClung has since followed, while also entering the transfer portal.
Now it looks like another pair of Red Raiders are looking for a new home and Texas is in contention to land either or both.
Guards Micah Peavy and Kyler Edwards have both entered with transfer portal, with the Longhorns reaching out to both.
Texas Tech transfer Micah Peavy has heard from Texas, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Florida, SMU, Western Kentucky, Illinois, Georgia, others, a source told @Stockrisers.

Entered the portal this weekend. https://t.co/8RcoGLYxei
Junior guard Kyler Edwards has entered his name into the transfer portal after news broke of Chris Beard’s departure. Edwards was the last man standing from Tech’s 2019 team that reached the Final Four.https://t.co/77zRb7ewVw

Career Stats
Kyler Edwards – 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists per game. 43.1% FG, 38.4% from three
Micah Peavy – 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists per game. 45.9% FG
At this point, both players are still exploring the transfer portal and it’s all speculation. However, considering Peavy came to Texas Tech almost solely to play with Beard and that Edwards pulled his name out and re-entered it into the transfer portal in the time it took for Chris Beard’s staff to get built, it makes sense.
Both Peavy and Edwards know Beard, his system, and style. Don’t be surprised if he’s able to land both former Red Raiders before next season.
