Texas lineman transferring to Tennessee

Texas offensive lineman is transferring to Tennessee.

Sophomore offensive lineman Andrej Karic announced his commitment to Tennessee on Monday.

“Recruitment closed,” Karic announced.

The 6-foot-5, 306-pound Karic played for Texas from 2020-22.

He played in 26 games, starting five contests, for the Longhorns.

In 2022, Karic played in 12 games on the offensive line and as a blocking tight end. He started three contests at tight end this season.

Karic played at Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas.

His transfer comes ahead of the early signing period for the Vols’ 2023 recruiting class. The early signing period will take place Wednesday-Friday.

No. 6 Tennessee (10-2, 6-2 SEC) will play No. 7 Clemson (11-2, 8-0 ACC) in the Capital One Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.

Kickoff between the Vols and Tigers is slated for 8 p.m. EST (ESPN) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
