The Texas arsenal of weapons continues to grow.
On Wednesday, five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo from St. Louis University High School announced his commitment to the Texas Longhorns over Missouri, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
Wingo appeared to be flipping between Missouri and Texas over the last few months. As of recently, many national recruiting networks believed Wingo would commit to the Tigers. However, it was Steve Sarkisian’s staff that ultimately won out on his commitment day.
247Sports ranks Wingo as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 5 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver has been compared to Xavier Worthy by scouts due to his elite route running ability and impressive speed.
Wingo becomes the third five-star recruit to join Texas’ 2024 class alongside Colin Simmons (EDGE) and Brandon Baker (OT).
Sarkisian lands another top recruit, and don’t expect him to stop here.
