Chris Beard has made another big splash in the transfer portal with the addition of dynamic point guard Tyrese Hunter.
The 2021-22 Big 12 Freshman of the Year is taking his talents to Austin and will suit up for the Texas Longhorns next season.
Premier programs all over the country held Hunter as a top transfer target. The former Iowa State Cyclone chose Texas over the likes of Tennessee, Kansas, Purdue and Gonzaga.

Hunter averaged 11 points per game on 39% shooting, adding an impressive 4.9 assists and grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game. He played a major role in Iowa State’s run to the Sweet 16, scoring 23 points in the Cyclone’s first-round victory over LSU.
Texas’ new backcourt trio of Marcus Carr, five-star freshman Arterio Morris and Hunter breeds lots of excitement. The Longhorns could still benefit from finding another rim protector to boost the frontcourt.
