Texas ‘in the driver seat’ to land five-star LB Anthony Hill

Texas sits in a good spot with five-star linebacker Anthony Hill.

Five-star linebacker Anthony Hill headlined a talented group of recruits who made the visit to Texas over the weekend.

It appears Texas made a strong impression on the nation’s No. 1 linebacker despite the Longhorns’ poor performance on the field.

Sam Spiegelman of On3 Sports believes Texas is the team to beat for Hill at this point in his recruitment. He deems the Horns are in “the driver seat” to land the Denton Ryan product.

Texas appears to be picking up serious momentum in Hill’s recruitment after his decommitment for Texas A&M last week. The Longhorns have compiled a plethora of crystal ball projections for Hill over the last few days.

247Sports rates Hill as the No. 1 overall linebacker and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Texas. Texas’ 2023 class currently ranks No. 6 in the nation.

Landing Hill would serve as a monumental get for Steve Sarkisian and his staff. The superstar prospect has the chance to fight for a starting spot as early as his freshman season.
