Texas has two rivalry games that need to be brought back

College football was in a better place when Texas played these two teams annually.

This rivalry game ending was a travesty for college football, as the programs still despise each other and are in constant competition for recruits and on social media. When the Aggies departed for the SEC, there were rumors of them dodging the Longhorns but we will likely have a chance to see this rivalry again when the Longhorns make the move to the SEC as well. Here is what 247Sports said:

The Lone Star Showdown, as it was known before Texas A&M bolted from the Big 12, still happens every so often on the hardwood in men’s and women’s basketball, but Texas’ two pre-eminent college football programs have not faced off in 11 years. That is tough to see when there is only about two hours of separation between Austin and College Station. Again, the good news is that Texas is set to hop to the SEC, so the two programs will at least be in the same conference once more. There is no guarantee that they will play annually, but it absolutely needs to happen once the Longhorns make the move.
