The Texas Longhorns are reloading in the transfer portal. Another sporting outlet is taking notice of the team’s strong portal haul.
On3 Sports ranked the Top 10 transfer additions made by SEC programs this offseason. Texas was well represented on the list with two selections. Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Bond was ranked No. 2 while productive UTSA edge rusher Trey Moore ranked No. 10 on the list.
Texas A&M has received plenty of buzz for its portal haul but much of it was boosted by sheer numbers. The Aggies backfilled the class with several three-star transfers. Just one Texas A&M transfer addition made On3 Sports’ Top 10 for the SEC.
Ole Miss adds three of On3’s Top 10 and joins Texas as the only teams with multiple players on the list. The Rebels added the No. 1 transfer in Texas A&M departure Walter Nolen at defensive tackle. Following Nolen, they add the No. 5 player in Princely Umanmielen at edge and No. 9 transfer in South Carolina wide receiver Juice Wells.
Missouri offensive lineman Cayden Green checks in at No. 6 after transferring from Oklahoma. Green would figure to be an immediate impact player in Columbia.
The portal has provided Texas key missing pieces in starting quarterback Quinn Ewers and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell among others. The Longhorns will look to see similar impact from edge rusher Trey Moore, wide receiver Isaiah Bond and several other significant additions from arguably the program’s best ever portal class.
