With the hiring of Chris Ash as the defensive coordinator there was a lot of excitement surrounding his positional moves. DeMarvion Overshown was moved to the weakside linebacker spot and Joseph Ossai would be a pass rusher hybrid in the “Jack” role.

In his recent stops, Ash coached the likes of J.J. Watt and Joey Bosa at Wisconsin and Ohio State. He even went on to say that Ossai shares some of the characteristics of both of those players. That is high praise for two guys that have dominated at the NFL level. That duo has accounted for over 130 sacks combined in the NFL.

Now is its Ossai’s turn to become a menace off the edge. Last season the pass rush was underwhelming. It wasn’t until the Valero Alamo Bowl that people saw just what he was capable of as a pass rusher. With him now getting more opportunities to be the player he was in the bowl game. watch for Joseph Ossai to put his mark on the game.
