Texas Football: Steve Sarkisian releases depth chart ahead of season opener

A few interesting takeaways from the UL Monroe depth chart.

Texas and Steve Sarkisian have released a depth chart ahead of the season opener against Louisiana Monroe.

Sarkisian noted previously that he’d like to keep the two-deep depth charts fairly private and close to the chest this season.

There are several interesting takeaways from the one released on Sept. 3. It’s now official that Ja’Tavion Sanders and Cole Hutson secured their starting roles at tight end and right guard.

In terms of the wide receivers, Casey Cain may be listed higher than some expected. True freshmen Brenen Thompson and Savion Red should also receive a fair share of playing time.

On the defensive side, true freshman Ethan Burke is listed as the backup JACK and transfer linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey has secured a starting role.

Here’s a look at the full depth chart for Louisiana Monroe.
