Since Texas A&M has already been taken, it would be a lot of fun to see former head coach Mack Brown around burnt orange one more time. While he may be on the North Carolina sideline, it would still be a magical and emotional reunion for both parties.
Outside of Brown, the Tar Heels have one of the most explosive offenses in the entire country. Sophomore quarterback Sam Howell has not lived up to the Heisman hype some gave him at the beginning of the year but is arguably the second-best quarterback in the ACC. Dyami Brown and Dazz Newsome have been an electric 1-2 wide receiver punch as well.
North Carolina’s defense is giving up over 400 yards per game, letting Sam Ehlinger and Texas’ offense do their thing. It would provide precisely what everyone is looking for in a non-College Football Playoff bowl game; an entertaining and high scoring affair.
Watching and listening to Brown reminisce about his time in Austin would certainly be fun for everyone involved. If Texas cannot make the Big 12 championship or a New Year’s Six bowl, the fans deserve a fun matchup with a coaching legend.
