Texas Football: Must-have players for the 2024 recruiting class

Dream big. Texas can recruit all these players to Austin.

Texas is reaching the point of the offseason where it needs to make inroads on building its 2024 recruiting class. It’s time. While there’s plenty of time before signing day, we’d like to see more tangible wins from the class.

Outside of simply winning over recruits, Texas needs to excel in a handful of positions. It begins in the trenches where offensive line coach Kyle Flood needs to restock the position for the future. While we’re excited about the 2022 offensive line class that has already heavily featured Kelvin Banks and Cole Hutson, at some point those players will be gone. Texas needs to continue to build depth.

It’s unclear how big a focus the defensive line will be after a couple of huge defensive line recruiting classes. Adding impact players up front certainly wouldn’t hurt the team.

Regardless of where the class goes from here, Texas needs an excellent haul to avoid the falloff that the past coaching staff endured at the end of its tenure. Here’s a look at some of the recruits the Longhorns can ill afford to let slip through the cracks, in no particular order.
