Texas football comes in at No. 11 in preseason AP Poll

Is No. 11 too high or too low for Texas?

On Monday, the AP Poll released its preseason top 25 college football rankings and Texas fans will be thrilled with where they were placed.

The Longhorns came in at No. 11 in the country ahead of programs like Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Utah. The ranking marks their highest preseason ranking since 2019 when they were No. 10.

Texas is widely viewed as viewed as the Big 12 title favorite this season and some even have the Longhorns considered a playoff contender. Their offense is led by quarterback Quinn Ewers who is poised for a big year and a slew of talented receivers that make up arguably the best receiver room in the country.

On the defensive side of the ball they have veterans all over the secondary, and are hoping for some stars to arise across the defensive front.

It is worth noting that Alabama came in at No. 4 in the AP Poll which theoretically means that if Texas beats them they have a chance to ascend into the top-five for the first time since 2010.
