Texas Football: Bijan Robinson provides the stat of the game

Bijan Robinson was an electric back for the Texas Longhorns on Saturday against Kansas State. He even reached a huge feat in this game.

In the Longhorns’ biggest victory on the season in terms of margin of victory, there was no bigger player than Bijan Robinson for Texas.

Robinson accounted for 223 yards from scrimmage. He was the leading rusher in this game and finished second in receiving yards. Not to mention he and fellow backfield mate Roschon Johnson led the way with three touchdowns apiece. It was quite the afternoon for the player who scored his first collegiate touchdown, then added two more on the day.

Texas Longhorns Stat of the Day

Bijan Robinson finished with 172 yards rushing on nine attempts. His yard per carry average was a blistering 19.1. That is quite the number for any player, not just a freshman running back. Robinson proved by he was a top 20 prospect nationwide and the No. 1 running back in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

Bijan Robinson became the first Big 12 back since 2000 to rush for 170 yards on fewer than 10 carries.

That is quite the stat for Robinson. He registered his second 100-yard performance of the year. His other came against one of the top rushing defenses in the West Virginia Mountaineers. Bijan also averaged 18.6 yards per touch in this game.

When he spoke to the Longhorns Network crew after the game, they dubbed him “Little Ricky.” To be compared to Ricky Williams is quite the feat. Can he provide some of those memories of Williams in the near future? Only time will tell.
