Texas football 2021 projected depth chart, mid-spring offense

Now that we’re at the halfway point of spring practices, Longhorns Wire made a few changes to the depth chart on offense.

In early march, Longhorns Wire put together a projected depth chart for Texas football prior to the start of spring practices.

Now that we’re at the halfway point and have a better idea of which players appear to be making strides with the new coaching staff, the mid-spring depth chart has quite a few changes on both sides of the ball.

The major changes between the pre-spring projections and the mid-spring projections on offense center around the quarterback and wide receivers. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is known to play his best receivers regardless of their position. Therefore, we’ve removed the labels of slot, Z and X receivers and rather listed the top three overall.

There continues to be a bit of shuffling around on the offensive line due to the departure of left tackle Samuel Cosmi and the injury to Derek Kerstetter. This will be a primary position group to watch moving forward with several close position battles taking place.

We’ll have a better idea of how Sarkisian utilizes each playmaker or where they fit in his system when Texas holds their annual Orange-White scrimmage on April 24. When Spring ball concludes, we’ll update the projected depth chart. These will often change due to transfer players, injuries, or a variety of other reasons.

For now, here’s our mid-spring offensive depth chart.
