The Longhorns are now in the running for a highly sought-after JUCO player.
Three-star cornerback Jadarrius Perkins announced via Twitter over the weekend that he received an offer from the University of Texas. The Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. product originally verbally committed to Oregon early on in his recruitment, but chose to decommit from the Ducks in December.
On Jan. 27, Perkins committed to Missouri and enrolled on campus. Three months later, he chose to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound playmaker is listed as the No. 5 overall junior college prospect in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports composite rankings.
He’s received scholarship offers form Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Oklahoma and Texas A&M among numerous other well-respected programs. Perkins totaled 32 tackles, two tackles for loss, seven pass breakups and one interception over two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C.
