Texas defensive end Marqez Bimage will return to the team for winter conditioning and spring football.
Bimage was expected to transition to a true defensive end role under defensive coordinator Chris Ash, but he chose to opt out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.
According to Horns247, Bimage will be with the team when they arrive back to campus under newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian. Although Sarkisian has yet to hire a defensive coordinator, new defensive line coach Bo Davis has to feel relieved with Bimage’s return.

Known to many as a potential breakout candidate and one of the program’s best natural pass rushers, Bimage will hope to replace the production of Joseph Ossai.
In three seasons with the Longhorns, Bimage recorded 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
The former three-star prospect was the No. 34 overall player at his position out of the 2017 recruiting class.
