Texas head coach Tom Herman is putting together an impressive 2021 recruiting class.
That’s in large part due to a particular pair of teammates from Denton Ryan High School. Ja’Tavion Sanders and Billy Bowman Jr. are the two highest-graded commitments in Texas’ 2021 class up to this point.
The duo are listed as versatile athletes and have nearly identical recruiting grades according to 247Sports. However, Sanders has the slight edge as a five-star prospect while Bowman is sitting just behind him with a four-star rating.
Denton Ryan kicked off their season on Sept. 25 and you can go ahead and chalk it up as a highlight reel for the pair of Texas commits. Sanders stole the show with three total touchdowns, but Bowman joined the party as well by making his presence felt all over the field.
#Rivals100 DE Ja'Tavion Sanders reeled in 7 catches for 122 yards + 2 TD in Ryan's blowout Week 1 win. He also sealed the deal with a one-handed pick-6

Billy Bowman Jr. scores Ryan's first points of the 2020 season on a TD reception, then makes his presence felt on offense, defense and special teams. Lot of targets, tackles + gadget plays

This type of pure talent doesn’t come around often. Sanders and Bowman are expected to compete for playing time immediately once they arrive on campus in Austin.
