The Texas Longhorns hosted a handful of official visitors over the past weekend, and one of the more notable ones was four-star cornerback Selman Bridges.
The Temple native broke down his visit to Texas and his recent trip to Arkansas with 247Sports, and while he spoke highly of his visit to Austin, it sounds like Arkansas made a better impression.
“I would just say the vibe and the priority and just the coaching staff.” The four-star said on the differences between the Arkansas and Texas official visits. “The coaching staff at Arkansas is a big thing for me and it just felt good when I was up there.”
He did have some positives about his Texas visit, like Arch Manning telling him that Arkansas wasn’t the right place for him.
“Arch Manning came up to me when we were out and he told me ‘man Arkansas isn’t the place to be, it’s Texas.”
He also expressed that Austin being so close to his hometown is a major factor that may help the Longhorns’ case.
“Texas has the upper hand location wise because my parents wouldn’t have to drive so far to be able to see me and see me play, and I feel like that’s a big upper hand for Texas and Arkansas isn’t close enough to where my parents can usually drive they’d have to take a flight, but I guess it is still close enough where they could drive it’d just be longer.”
Bridges ranks as the No. 50 player in the country, No. 6 cornerback, and the No. 11 player in the state.
