Texas Basketball: Longhorns slide one spot in latest AP poll

In the latest AP poll, Texas has moved down one spot to No. 5. Iowa jumped over Texas after defeating Northwestern by 23 over the weekend.

Texas came out of the last week with a record of 1-1, including a heartbreaking loss to Texas Tech on Wednesday and a win over Kansas State on Saturday. The Longhorns now have an 11-2 overall record and are in sole possession of second place in the Big 12 with a 5-1 record.

In the latest AP poll, Texas has moved down one spot to No. 5. The Iowa Hawkeyes jumped ahead of the Longhorns after defeating Northwestern by 23 over the weekend. The top three of Gonzaga, Baylor, and Villanova (one of Texas’ losses) all remained the same.

The Big 12 continues to have five teams ranked inside of the top 15. Kansas (No. 9) and West Virginia (No. 14) both fell in the poll, while Texas Tech (No. 12) moved up three spots after their road win against Texas.
