Texas basketball keeps getting better.
On Thursday, four-star power forward Nic Codie announced his commitment to the University of Texas. He chose the Longhorns over Miami, Houston, Auburn, LSU, and others.
Codie stands at 6-foot-9, 200-pounds and has excellent anticipation for rebounding. According to Eric Bossi, Nic Codie doesn’t quite have the ability to be a consistent three-point shooter but can hit them enough to keep defenders on their heels.
He is an exceptional talent, ranked as the No. 46 player in the class of 2024 and the No. 7 power forward prospect in the nation. Additionally, Codie is the No.1 prospect in Texas, a testament to his incredible skills and potential.
Codie made a straightforward yet impactful statement after his commitment:
“Why not be great in your home state?”
