Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns are off to a flying start in the 2020-2021 season. Texas has won its opening two Big 12 games, including a 25 point win over Kansas on Saturday. Now moved up to No. 4 in the latest AP poll, the Longhorns are viewed as one of the top teams in the country.
Iowa State will now travel down to Austin on Tuesday night attempting to hand Texas its first Big 12 loss. The Cyclones so far this season, dropping their first three conference games. Overall, they are 2-5 with wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Jackson State.
Iowa State is seen as one of the bottom tier level teams in the conference, a game the Longhorns must be able to take care of business. A win would see Texas would start 3-0 in the Big 12 for the first time under Shaka Smart.
