The Texas Longhorns (1-0) and Michigan Wolverines (1-0) meet at Michigan Stadium in Columbus on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Texas vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Texas racked up a 52-0 victory at the DKR in Austin last week, easily covering a 35-point spread against Colorado State as the Under (62.5) came through.

The Longhorns were good for 190 yards on the ground, while posting 355 yards through the air. Heisman hopeful QB Quinn Ewers opened 20-of-27 for 260 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT, and QB Arch Manning tossed his 1st collegiate TD in the game.

Michigan had a little tougher of a time against Fresno State at the Big House, winning 30-10. The Bulldogs hung around well into the 2nd half. It was just 10-3 Michigan at the break, and 13-3 heading to the 4th quarter. The Bulldogs sliced the lead to 16-10 with 10:06 to go, but the Wolverines had a Colston Loveland TD grab with 5:43 left, going ahead 23-10, while a Pick-6 put the icing on the cake at 3:57 to go.

Texas is No. 3 and Michigan is No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll,  conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.

Texas at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas 27, Michigan 20

Moneyline

We’ve seen this movie before. Texas (-255) played in a giant road game in September last season at Alabama, and it came away victorious. The Longhorns won’t be fazed heading to the Big House against the defending national champs, where Michigan (+205) doesn’t lose often.

However, you can’t risk 2 1/2 times your potential return on the ‘Horns. This could be a tight affair right down to the end, and there is too much risk for not enough reward.

PASS.

Against the spread

Play MICHIGAN +7.5 (-122) catching the points at home. Last week, the hook was our friend in a multitude of games, and it should be the case here, too. The Wolverines are likely to be on the short end when the dust clears, but this won’t be a blowout by any means.

Texas -7.5 (+100) at even-money is not a strong play. Yes, it demolished Colorado State last week, while Michigan struggled with Fresno State. Those are 2 completely different programs in the Mountain West, and as the season plays on, that win by the Wolverines will look more and more impressive, as Fresno State is a very good football team, and might even be ranked by season’s end.

Over/Under

The OVER 41.5 (-120) might be the best play on the board here.

Yes, Michigan’s strength is the run game, and running keeps the clock going, which Under bettors traditionally love. But Texas has a strong pass attack, and it should be able to move the chains frequently against this Wolverines defense.
