Texas A&M’s coaching staff recently visited two 2026 5-star prospects

Texas A&M’s coaching staff has been hard at work on the recruiting trail this week

This month, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his team have traveled extensively to meet with prospects from the 2026 recruiting class. Meanwhile, several recruits have emerged as top priority prospects on Elko’s list.

Earlier this year, the No. 1-ranked player in the 2026 cycle, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, visited the Aggies during the first junior day of the offseason, while five-star athlete Brandon Arrington, who is a slight favorite to land with Texas A&M, visited College Station during the Aggies’ season-finale loss to Texas.

This week, Elko and offensive line coach Adam Cushing visited Cantwell on Friday, while cornerbacks coach Jordan Peterson visited Brandon Arrington for an at-home visit this week. Elko and Peterson also visited 2026 four-star cornerback Dorian Barney in Georgia on Thursday.

While Cantwell is predicted to continue playing left tackle at the next level, Arrigton’s elite speed and versatility allow him to play wide receiver or cornerback, even though Peterson and the staff see him in the secondary as an outside cornerback.

In the age of NIL and the transfer portal, Mike Elko’s dedication to keeping contact with every priority recruit is a great sign ahead of the spring football period.
