Texas among top schools for four-star WR Jalen Hale

Texas has a chance to land one of the top pass catchers in the 2023 class.

Even with one of the most loaded wide receiver rooms in the country, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are planning for life after this core.

It is not often that a team has so many high caliber receivers on the roster like Xavier Worthy, Isaiah Neyor, Jordan Whittington, and Agiye Hall. However, in just two years time, three of the four will be likely be gone. This means that Sarkisian needs to continue to add elite pass catchers.

Texas received great news via Twitter on Thursday as they made the top six schools for four-star wide receiver Jalen Hale.

The Longview native holds 35 offers and is one of the best pass catchers in the class of 2023, tallying 96 career catches for over 2,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. Hale ranks as the No. 40 overall player according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, and the No. 6 player in the state.

He is a three-sport athlete that also runs track and plays basketball, and made history at Longview as he is believed to be the first freshmen to play varsity football in over 15 years according to 247Sports.

At 6-foot-2, Hale has been praised for his ability to come down with contested catches. He would be a major get for Texas who will have to fend off USC, Alabama, Ohio State, and in-state rival Texas A&M.

As it currently stands, he does hold one crystal ball prediction to Oklahoma, but considering they are not among the finalist, his recruitment is seemingly up for grabs.
