Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke at the Touchdown Club in Houston on Wednesday and mentioned that his coaching staff is currently on the road visiting top recruits across the country.
Sarkisian has to be pleased with the work his assistants have done up to this point. Texas landed the No. 3 class in the nation for the 2023 cycle and could be in position to land another top-five class in 2024.
The Longhorns are currently the favorite for Jerrick Gibson (RB) and Micah Hudson (WR), two of the nation’s top recruits in the 2024 recruiting class. Now they’re among the top eight schools for one of the top prospects on the defensive side of the ball.
Five-star edge Jordan Ross announced the top schools left in his recruitment on Wednesday night. Texas made the cut alongside Georgia, Alabama, Florida, USC, Oregon, LSU and Tennessee.
The Alabama native is rated the No. 1 recruit in the state and the No. 2 edge in the country for the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
