The Longhorns appear to be gaining steam on the 2023 recruiting trail.
Numerous recruits have mentioned Texas among their top schools over the last week, the latest coming by way of four-star edge Derion Gullette.
Gullette announced his top seven schools of Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Alabama, Ohio State, Florida and Oklahoma on Thursday. The Marlin product (Marlin, TX) is rated the No. 26 edge prospect in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 41 overall player in the state, according to 247Sports.

He has an official visit scheduled with Texas on June 24. Gullette also has official visits scheduled with Ohio State and Oklahoma. However, On3’s recruiting prediction machine shows his recruitment is seemingly an in-state battle between Texas and Texas A&M.
In 2021, Gullette recorded 125 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.
