Texas among top five schools for speedy 2023 WR Chris Palfreeman

Two-sport athlete out of Fort Worth.

It’s no secret that Texas desperately needs to revamp their roster.

First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff must find success on the recruiting trail and via the transfer portal as soon as possible. Player development will be key as well, but the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes will make or break Sarkisian’s tenure in Austin.

The Longhorns have done quite well for the 2022 cycle up to this point, as the class is currently ranked No. 7 in the nation and numerous priority targets are still left on the board.

The 2023 class for Texas consists of just one commitment right now. Four-star defensive back Jamel Johnson announced his commitment on Nov. 4. However, several other 2023 prospects are beginning to narrow down their list of schools.

Three-star wide receiver Chris Palfreeman announced the top five schools left in his recruitment on Monday. Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas, SMU and Baylor were included on the short list.

The speedy playmaker is a two-sport athlete in football and track and field and clocked a 10.54 100-meter in 2020.

Palfreeman is rated the No. 60 wide receiver in the 2023 class and the No. 71 overall recruit from the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

His biography states that he is a versatile player at running back, wide receiver, and cornerback.
