Texas is in the running for one of California’s top prospects in the 2023 recruiting class.
Four-star wide receiver Rico Flores announced the top five schools left in his recruitment on Tuesday. Texas made the cut alongside Notre Dame, Ohio State, UCLA and Georgia.
Flores is rated the No. 13 overall prospect in California and the No. 23 wide receiver in the country for the 2023 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

In 2021, Flores played a six-game sophomore season for Folsom High School where he hauled in 31 passes for 606 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 19.5 yards per catch.
The Longhorns are very much in the market for a wide receiver after only taking one in the 2022 class (Brenen Thompson). At the time, Texas only has one commit for the 2023 cycle in four-star safety Jamel Johnson.
