Texas A&M WR Evan Stewart has entered the transfer portal

Stewart is the best available wide receiver in the portal.

The major player has entered the transfer portal. Former five-star signee, Evan Stewart has entered his name in the portal according to Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports.

Stewart was among the record-breaking class in the 2022 cycle. He has spent the last two seasons in College Station with success at the wide receiver position. In 18 career games, Stewart has hauled in 91 receptions for 1,163 yards and 6 touchdowns.

He originally committed to play for the Texas Longhorns before backing off his pledge less than a month later in 2021. He was a priority target for plenty of teams including Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, and Alabama. He ultimately chose to go with the Aggies.

Stewart is among the top-rated targets in the portal and he will have no shortage of suitors once again. His ceiling is sky high and a better offense should unlock his full potential. I would certainly expect the Texas Longhorns and head coach Steve Sarkisian to be among the first to gauge his interest.

Of course, keep an eye out for the Alabama Crimson Tide as they look to restock their offense with a game-breaking wide receiver ahead of the 2024 season. My dark horse would be another SEC program, LSU after seeing the success of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. this past season in Mike Denbrock’s offense.
