Texas A&M transfer LB Jurriente Davis has been working out with former Aggies LB Donnie Baggs

Former Jackson State linebacker Jurriente Davis is now an Aggie, and he’s reportedly been working with former Aggies LB Donnie Baggs this offseason.

Texas A&M has seen several former athletes enter the sports training realm after leaving the football program. Still, one name always comes to mind whenever a current Aggie player is training in the offseason, and that former standout linebacker Donnie Baggs, who from 2011-2015 recorded 92 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 12.5 tackles for loss for the Maroon and White.

After brief professional stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the CFL’s Edmonton Elks, Donnie Baggs and his partner Fendi Baggs opened Higher Ceiling Performance in Houston, Texas, specializing in training athletes from multiple disciplines, especially linebacker development.

Seen through a post on social media (Twitter), current Aggies linebacker Jurriente Davis, who transferred to the program in late April from Jackson State, was seen training with Baggs last weekend as he preps to play a significant role within Texas A&M linebacker rotation, one of the thinnest position groups on the roster.

Davis’s best collegiate season came in 2022; he ended the 2022 season recording 58 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and a career-best 75.3 PFF grade and was ranked as the No.1 linebacker in the transfer portal at the time of his transfer announcement.

Chris Russell Sr. and Edgerrin Cooper lead Texas A&M’s linebacker room, followed by critical reserves in sophomore Martrell Harris and true freshman Taurean York, making the addition of Davis, who brings tremendously valuable experience and versatility to a group that is looking to improve after an underwhelming performance in 2022. Keep putting that work in, Jurriente!
