Texas A&M sophomore TE named to the John Mackey Award Watch list

Aggie tight end Donovan Green is back on the field and has been named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List

It’s been a long time coming but Texas A&M junior tight end Donovan Green will be back on the field for the 2024 football season. After missing the entire 2023 season with an ACL injury he’s worked his way back to health and is one of the top TEs to watch in the fall.

The John Mackey Award Selection Committee agreed naming him to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. Green showed promise during his freshman year starting four games and recording 233 yards on 22 receptions and two touchdowns. Before his injury, he was going to be competing for a starting spot as one of the main TEs in the Jimbo Fisher’s system.

Established in 2000 by the Nassau County Sports Commission, the award is given to the tight end who best exemplifies the play, sportsmanship, academics and community values of Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end John Mackey. The award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award selection Committee.
