Texas A&M fifth-year senior linebacker Christopher Russell Jr. has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound graduate of Dyersburg High School in Tennessee announced his decision via X on Wednesday night.
“First and foremost, thank God for blessing me to play the game I love and for every opportunity he has given me along the way,” Russell stated. “To family and friends, thank you for being with me each step of the way, your continuous support has not gone unnoticed. I will forever be grateful for everything that has been done to help me reach where I am today.
“To coach Fisher (and) coach Durkin, thank you for putting your trust in me and giving me a chance to show you what I am capable of. Thank you to all of the coaches who have helped guide me along the way.
“Lastly, thank you Texas A&M University! Thank you for making my time here unforgettable. Playing in front of the 12th man… there is nothing like it!

After playing in 11 of 13 games as a true freshman in 2019, Russell played in all 47 of the Aggies games for the remainder of his collegiate career. In 58 total contests, he tallied 113 tackles (60 solo), 10 tackles for a loss of 46 yards, 4.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception & touchdown, respectively.
